Psi Factor
Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal is a television show about the Office of Scientific Investigation and Research. Each episode is said to be based on true and factual cases from the OSIR, but because of their want to stay a low-profile organization, no one knows for sure if they really exist.
Psi Factor was hosted by Dan Akroyd, who he himself is a strong believer in the paranormal. The show ran for four seasons and is still in re-runs on the TNT network because of it's great popularity.

What Psi Factor Means
The phrase "Psi Factor", or the paranormal anomaly that is causing an event or phenomena, came from the Greek Alphabet. Psi is the 23rd letter in the Greek alphabet and stands for the unknown just like the letter X does in the English Alphabet. This phrase is used quite often in OSIR reports, documents, data-log entries, Case Manager logs and in round table meetings.

Psi Factor first aired in the fall of 1996 after much work by the show's host Dan Akroyd. During the second season, Psi Factor brought aboard Matt Fewer to play their new Case Manager, Matt Preager and Michael Moriarty to play the mysterious and "all-knowing" Mike Kelly. Fewer also took on the role as co-executive producer for two (2) years.
